TECHNICAL INFORMATION Filtek™ Supreme XTE Universal and Flowable Restoratives owe their outstanding properties to the nanotechnology first introduced by 3M™ ESPE™ in 2002.
Filtek™ Supreme XTE restorative retains its brilliant polish thanks to bonded nanofiller particles. It has been shown that Filtek™ Supreme XTE restorative has superior polish retention to other composites and even microfills, thanks to the patented process used to manufacture the nanocomposite. This process creates unique clusters of nanoparticles. These nanoclusters wear at a rate similar as the surrounding resin matrix when subject to abrasion. Thus the restoration maintains a smoother surface and the impressive initial gloss will last for years.
Our ''true'' nanocomposite provides wear resistance similar to enamel. A recent 5-year clinical study* measuring ''occlusal contact wear'' showed no statistically significant difference between Filtek™ Supreme Universal Restorative and enamel. Because Filtek™ Supreme XTE restorative is derived from the same patented nanotechnology and, as proven by laboratory data, has a similar wear resistance to Filtek™ Supreme XT restorative, you can use it with confidence anywhere in the mouth.
